Think back to when you were 12 or younger. What did you do? Did you fly a kite or build a den? Did you throw some snow or hunt for treasure? My generation did all these things.
Today what do kids do? Many play on their Playstation or X-Box. They spend a lot of time on their computers. Many fail to go outside in the real world. A lot of adults find this quite alarming. To the point where in Britain the National Trust has recently published a top 50 list of ‘Things to do before you’re 11¾’.

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 from ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Thunderball’ came top in a list of all time 50 favourite memories from the James Bond hit movies. Second was Oddjob’s metal-rimmed bowler hat that decapitated his enemies. A survey of 1000 moviegoers, conducted by insurance firm esure to mark 50 years of the film franchise, asked fans to name what to them encapsulates their favourite secret service agent.
Coming in at number three was Bond’s favourite drink – a Martini that he prefers ‘shaken, not stirred’. Surprisingly, Ursula Andress – dressed in a skimpy white bikini as Honey Ryder in the first James Bond movie ‘Dr No’ – comes in at a rather lowly 22, but she is still 23 places above hunky Daniel Craig emerging from the sea in his tight swimming trunks in the remake of ‘Casino Royale’.
Nikki Sellers from esure: “Bond is famous for the actors who play him, the villains and, of course, the girls.” She added, “We wanted to also celebrate the non-human stars of the films, such as the amazing cars, the wonderful inventions and the style icons.”

Today we will look at the top 50 things British people like best about Britain. Topping the top 50 list at number one is the tasty bacon butty (or bacon sandwich) filled with lots of ketchup. A traditional roast dinner took second place while a nice cup of tea made number three. Certainly, a good hot cuppa helps wash down a hot bacon butty.
A total of 60,000 Brits took part in the T-Mobile survey, which shows Britain is a nation of food lovers. Having said that British history comes in at number four followed by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), Big Ben in sixth and Buckingham Palace in seventh position.
Brits like their rolling hills which makes eighth spot. Next we’re back to food with fish and chips and Yorkshire Pudding coming in ninth and tenth respectively.
